Hidden Confidence free essay sample

Ever since I was a little girl I have always been shy and unsociable. I have tried on many accounts to talk in front of a group of people. As I stood there shaking like a wet dog and twiddling my thumbs, failed to speak in front of the class. When I finished speaking I sighed with relief, and thanked god that I can relax. Whenever other students like me spoke with confidence to the class, an overwhelming jealousy welded up inside me. I thought to myself, how do they do that? Why don’t they get nervous? Since that day I knew that my lifetime goal was not to be afraid of being confident. Nothing seemed to work as time went by. Already being in high school my voice and body would still quiver when I got in front of my class. Finally, I realized a great way to become more open and confident. It would help with my self-confidence. Standing up I marched over to the teacher and said â€Å"I’m ready to join FCCLA†. Some part of me was all for the change, but the other part was terrified. I knew deep down that this would help me reach my goal. I stood there feet firmly planted on the floor with a big smile on my face. Not having a bad taste in my mouth, and confidence showing from my movement as I walked forward. Watching everyone else projecting their words and not feeling like a small person in a big room, helped motivate me to try it for myself. I want to do something more with my life. What good paying job does not require talking in front of someone? I hoped for quite some time now that I could get by without socially interacting with people. Growing up I realized that in order to get anywhere in this world you have to socialize. I picked this as my goal because it will haunt me for the rest of my life. I won’t have good working skills to even get a job. Its time I start to grow up and fix what is broken. If I live my life the way I have so far it would not be productive. I do know that reaching this goal is a challenging task for me, but I’m prepared to do anything I can to make this goal a reality. Knowing for a fact that I am ready. Confidently, I stood up with my back straight and presented my speech to the class. Prepared to face the challenges that life will throw my way, I stood confident. I need to have more faith in myself to succeed, and understand the techniques to get me to where I need to be.I intend to continue practice and learn more as time goes by. Hopefully, one day I will achieve my goal.
